My name is Lucy England, and I have recently completed my final year studying BA Hons in Design for Event, Exhibition and Performance at the University of Lincoln.
My final major project, Dystopia: The Layers of Becoming, is a multisensory and psychologically immersive experience that explores introspection, memory and transformation. Set within Nottingham Contemporary, the project invites audiences to journey through a dystopian framework of high and low society, moving through a series of sensory-driven spaces designed to encourage self-discovery and reflection. Through immersive storytelling and experiential design, the project challenges visitors to reconnect with themselves while escaping the routines of everyday life.
As a designer, I fully immerse myself within the concepts I create. My design identity is grounded in the creation of richly textured and layered environments that evoke emotional and sensory responses. My approach to design is always rooted in thorough research, hand-drawn development and tangible material exploration, allowing ideas to evolve through both conceptual thinking and physical experimentation
